Our History
United Pathways, Inc. was born when Russ and Kathy Konkel decided the beautiful woods and waters of Wisconsin would be a perfect respite for families with special needs. After a lot of searching, the property at Camp Eagle Rest was purchased. As an organization since 1970, United Pathways received nonprofit status in 1977.
Our Mission
The mission of United Pathways, Inc., at Camp Eagle Rest, “is to establish and carry on a nonprofit home and camp for the physically handicapped and mentally handicapped and others; to provide helpful advice and guidance to those individuals; to promote sound and fundamental Christian ideas”.
United Pathways has fulfilled this mission year after year, since inception, by hosting numerous families and individuals at Camp Eagle Rest. Vacation and respite can include sitting by the river in the park like setting, walking the trail systems along the river, screen porch relaxation and viewing the wildlife. Tourist activities in the area of nearby Tomahawk, Rhinelander and Minocqua, Wisconsin are popular pastimes as well as visiting the numerous lakes in the area.
